Description

The 1993 Ford F150 transmissions were designed to serve a variety of applications, from highway driving to towing. The solid 4.9L I6 (300 cubic inches) produced about 145 horsepower and was typically matched to either a 5-speed manual transmission for added driver assistance or the smooth-shifting E4OD 4-speed automatic transmission, perfect for easy long-distance driving. 

For extra torque, the 5.0L V8 (302 cubic inches) engine producing 185 horsepower was available with either the E4OD automatic transmission (with overdrive for fuel efficiency) or the 5-speed manual, appealing to drivers who wanted more hands-on driving, especially when towing or off-roading.
