Description
The 1995 Ford F150 transmissions were selected to be as powerful as the truck’s engine options. For the 4.9L I6 (300 cu in), which generated 145 horsepower, was normally paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that gave the driver more flexibility to choose between gears, or the E4OD automatic that allowed for faster shifting and more convenience on long highway drives.
If you wanted something a little pricier, the 5.0L V8 (302 cubic inches) and 185 horsepower can be paired with the 5-speed manual transmission for towing and more control, or the E4OD automatic for smoother shifting and better gas mileage, especially on the highway. The 5.8L V8 (351 cubic inches) pushed out 210 horsepower and was typically paired with either the E4OD automatic or the more rugged ZF 5-speed manual, good for heavy-duty hauling and off-roading.
