Description

The 1998–2001 Ford Aerostar had two motor choices: a 3.0L V6 and a 4.0L V6. The 3.0L V6 provided 135 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, delivering an efficient and reliable motor for everyday driving and light-duty driving. The engine was comfortable to drive and delivered acceptable performance for family, commuter and light hauling. The upgraded 4.0L V6 that made 160 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque provided more performance and was a better choice for people who needed more power to tow, haul large loads, or drive long distances. Each of the engines was coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission that provided excellent shifting and reliability to the Aerostar.
