Description
The 2012–2019 Ford Ranger had two diesel engines, both of which proved to be popular for their excellent towing capacity and efficiency. The 2.2L I4 Diesel engine generated roughly 158 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque, and the power-to-economy ratio is an excellent compromise for everyday drive as well as light-duty hauling. For those who needed more power, the 3.2L I5 Diesel provided 197 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. This engine was excellent for hefty towing and off-road driving, supplying the power required for tough terrain with decent fuel economy. Such diesel engines were part of the Ranger’s appeal in markets where torque and economy mattered.
